WELCOME TO LASERAGE

LaserAge offers the worlds most advanced industrial laser cleaning systems, offering full automation to the Automotive, Aerospace, Moulding, Manufacturing, Baking and General Engineering Industries.

LASER CLEANING SOLUTIONS

LaserAge offers a non-contact solution for ablating rust, paint, release agents and most organic and inorganic contaminants from all alloy and ceramic substrate materials, including wood and glass

NON DESTRUCTIVE SURFACE TREATMENT

The surface tolerances of your tooling remain unchanged as laser ablation only removes the unwanted oxide layers and contaminants.

CLEAN & COST EFFECTIVE

With no clean up, no noise pollution and no chemicals or abrasive media to dispose of afterwards, laser cleaning is today’s most sustainable, cost effective solution, and in the process reduces your carbon footprint.

OUR SERVICES

Laser Cleaning Service

We offer on-site cleaning of contaminated industrial components and moulds for many industries. We also offer a more comprehensive off-site professional laser cleaning service at our Application Lab in Midleton, Co. Cork, the home of Jameson Irish Whiskey.   We are 30 minutes from Cork International Airport.

The laser beam provides highly efficient and non-abrasive cleaning, allowing the removal of oxidised surfaces and organic contaminants from the base alloy material within seconds. Our trained professionals will fulfil all of your laser cleaning needs to the highest of standards.

Hire a Laser Cleaner

Interested in renting a laser cleaning system instead?  Our  manual portable handheld lasers are available for hire. The QFC or Compact systems, from 100W to 300W, are the most compact and agressive laser cleaning systems available on the market today, available for hire, on a daily, weekly or monthly period with discounts available for longer rentals. The systems are delivered to your premises and on site training is given along with risk analysis and neccessary safety measures.

CUTTING-EDGE LASER CLEANING SYSTEMS

Laser cleaning is a safe, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solution that provides high-quality results. Unlike other abrasive methods, such as sandblasting, grinders, flap wheels nailguns, etc., laser cleaning doesn’t damage the substrate surface.  Laser cleaning removes contaminants like rust, oxides, anodized & PVD coatings, paint, soot, release agent and weathering residues. So, if you’re looking for a better way to clean industrial components, consider laser cleaning. It’s the best choice for industrial-strength but non abrasive cleaning that exists today.

Materials which can be cleaned with a laser include, but are not limited to all metal alloys, i.e. aluminium, steel and cast iron,  Other substrates include ceramics, marble and sandstone.   Our laser cleaning professionals are on hand to advise you further.

APPLICATIONS

Mould Cleaning

Laser cleaning injection mould tooling offers benefits like precision removal of contaminants without damaging surfaces, reduced chemical use, and minimal waste. It enhances tool longevity, improves part quality, and provides faster, cost-effective cleaning with no need for abrasive materials or harsh solvents.

Weld Cleaning

Laser pre- and post-weld cleaning offers precise removal of oxides, contaminants, and residues, ensuring stronger, cleaner welds. It improves weld quality, reduces rework, enhances surface finish, and eliminates the need for chemicals or abrasive materials, promoting a faster, more efficient welding process.

Pre-Treatment

Laser pre-treatment for texturizing alloy substrates enhances surface adhesion, improves coating bond strength, and creates precise microtextures. It enables customized designs, reduces chemical use, and ensures uniformity, leading to improved durability, functionality, and performance of the alloy materials in various applications.

Soot Removal

Laser cleaning of smoke damage effectively removes soot, contaminants, and odors without damaging surfaces. It’s precise, eco-friendly, and non-abrasive, reducing the need for harsh chemicals. The process is efficient, restoring surfaces to their original condition quickly and safely

Laser Marking, Etching & Engraving

Laser marking, etching, and engraving provide precise, permanent, and high-quality markings on various materials. They improve product traceability, enhance branding, and reduce production time. The process is eco-friendly, cost-effective, and minimizes wear on tools, boosting efficiency and consistency in manufacturing.

FAQs

What is laser cleaning?
Laser cleaning is a process used to remove contaminants such as rust, paint, and oxide from metal surfaces, in addition to stone and other materials. It is a highly efficient and non-abrasive type of cleaning. By directing nanosecond-length pulses of laser light towards a surface, you can remove contaminants without any damage to the metal surface underneath.
Do laser cleaners really work?
Yes. The nanosecond-length pulses of laser light are directed towards a surface, transforming the contaminants into a gas or causing the particles to release from the surface upon which they have adhered. It is more effective and safer than many traditional cleaning techniques and is especially efficient within technical industries such as aerospace, automotive, and military and defence.
Can a laser remove rust?
Laser cleaning is useful at removing a range of contaminants from a surface, including rust. Laser rust removal is a type of laser cleaning which removes rust without damaging the surface underneath, making it useful in many industries such as automotive and aerospace. Surface preparation is the ideal way to deliver surface cleaning without damaging the base layer.
Will laser cleaning damage my material?
Laser cleaning provides the user with a precise cleaning method to remove contaminants without damaging the underlying material. The nanosecond-length pulses of laser light allow for targeted contaminant removal, with virtually no thermal effect on the surface you are working upon. It is safer both for operators and the environment than traditional media blasting.
What can I use laser cleaning for?
Laser cleaning is used across many industries including but not limited to aerospace, defence and military, automotive, energy and power generation, oil and gas, heritage site restoration, stone cleaning, food manufacturing, and space exploration. It can remove a range of contaminants from surfaces, such as rust, coating, and grease. Through laser cleaning, you can restore parts without damaging them.
